  Yearbook Contests—Best of Volumes

Yearbook Contest RulesThe Official Rules

  • The contest is sponsored by Lifetouch National School Studios Inc. (“Lifetouch”) and is open to all schools publishing a 2007-2008 yearbook with Lifetouch utilizing the Volumes program. Entries must be submitted with a Best of Volumes 2008 Entry Form signed by the school’s superintendent, principal or vice principal.  Information about how your yearbook excelled in each of the categories is recommended.
  • All entries must be received by October 10, 2008.
  • Lifetouch assumes no responsibility for lost, late, illegible, damaged, delayed, incomplete or misdirected entries. Entries submitted in violation of the official rules are void.
  • All entries must be the original work of students, faculty, administration or other community members working with the students on behalf of the participating school.
  • All entries become the exclusive property of Lifetouch and will not be returned.
  • A panel of journalism and marketing professionals will judge each entry in all of the following categories: Theme and Concept (20%), Writing (20%), Design (20%), Coverage (20%) and Photography (20%). Four winners with the highest overall average score in will be selected in the High School Division and Middle School Division. Limit one prize per school. The Judges’ decisions are final.
  • Prizes are awarded to the School. The Grand Prize winner in the High School Division will receive a digital camera (APR $350.)  First Runner-Up will receive $250. Second Runner-Up will receive $200. Third Runner-Up will receive $150. 
    The Grand Prize winner in the Middle School Division will receive a digital camera (APR $250.) First Runner-Up will receive $200. Second Runner-Up will receive $150. Third Runner-Up will receive $100.  No substitutions or transfers of prizes. All federal, state and local taxes are the responsibility of the winning school.
  • Judging will take place between October 13 - November 21, 2008, to include both fall and spring delivered yearbooks. Winning schools will be notified by December 15, 2008.
  • Award of prize is conditioned on receipt of the school’s validly signed written authorization to publish and use all or part of the yearbook on the Lifetouch website and in written materials without review and releasing Lifetouch and its affiliates from any claims associated with participation in the contest or publication of all or part of the school’s yearbook.  Failure to sign the authorization form will result in forfeiture of the prize.
  • Odds of winning the contest depend on the total number of entries received.
  • Submitting an entry constitutes authorization by the school to publish and/or use the school’s name, address, yearbook cover, portions of the yearbook and ideas from the yearbook as a creative resource for schools and yearbook advisors, on the internet and in written materials without review for education and promotional purposes.
  • This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited.  The laws of the state of Minnesota govern.
