  Selling—Placing Ads

Placing Ads When selling ads and submitting them to Lifetouch, keep the following points in mind:

  • Your sales teams may approach prospects in a number of ways—sales letters, telephone calls or personal visits. In any communications with potential advertisers, be clear about acceptable ad sizes, how to submit ads, costs and payment methods.
  • It is best to use a clean black-and-white copy of the ad in the size it is to appear in the yearbook.
  • Some advertisers will already have ads prepared. If an ad has been printed in another publication, it can probably be used in your book.
  • If an advertiser sends in an ad that contains a photo, it will not reproduce well. Ask that they send an actual photo separate from the ad.
  • For programs using Designer Track Layouts (TimesSaver and WebEase), you may choose an ad layout (#’s 766-770, 779 and 780) on the Page Envelope, and include the ads in the envelope in the same way you would photos for an activity page. Be sure to place Activity Photo Stickers on the back of each ad to identify the placement of each ad within the layout. Lifetouch will reduce or enlarge the ads to fit the spaces in the layout.
