Planning Your Yearbook—
Recruiting Parent Volunteers
Many elementary yearbooks are created by parent volunteers. Sometimes the whole staff, including the adviser, is comprised of parents.
As with a student staff, recruiting and organization are keys to a successful start.
Advertise through organizations (PTO, PTA) and by sending home flyers.
Establish roles and responsibilities based on the size and skills of your staff, and the yearbook program you are using.
Determine when and where (school, homes) your staff will meet.
Encourage all parents to submit photos they have taken throughout the year.
